NOTICE OF MEETING OF THE

COMMISSIONERS’ COURT OF KAUFMAN COUNTY, TEXAS

             NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT A Regular MEETING OF THE ABOVE NAMED COMMISSIONERS’ COURT WILL BE HELD ON THE 27th DAY OF August , 2007 ,

AT 9:30 A.M., IN THE COMMISSIONERS’ COURT MEETING ROOM AT THE KAUFMAN COUNTY ANNEX BUILDING, 100 NORTH WASHINGTON, KAUFMAN, TEXAS, AT WHICH TIME THE COMMISSIONERS’ COURT WILL CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION, AND POSSIBLE ACTION, TO WIT:

-         Approval of minutes of meeting on August 20, 2007.

-          Routine Correspondence

-         10:00 A.M.     -         To discuss and consider exiting regular meeting and entering into Public Hearing.

-         10:00 A.M.     -           Public Hearing regarding setting a speed limit of 30 mph on Taylor Ranch Loop,

Kaufman County Precinct 4, and placing “30 mph” speed limit signs on Taylor Ranch Loop.

-         10:00 A.M.     -         Public Hearing regarding not allowing through trucks on CR 4102, Kaufman Co. Precinct 4 and placing “No Through Trucks” signs on CR 4102.

-         To discuss and consider exiting public hearing and entering back into regular meeting.

-          To discuss and consider setting speed limit of 30 mph on Taylor Ranch Loop, Kaufman County Precinct 4, and placing “30 mph” speed limit signs on Taylor Ranch Loop.

-         To discuss and consider not allowing through trucks on CR 4102, Kaufman County Precinct 4, and placing “No Through Trucks” signs on CR 4102.

-          Jason Brown    -         Presentation to brief the court about the legislative changes to the Texas Emissions Reduction Plan (TERP) and the Low Income Vehicle Repair Assistance, Retrofit and Accelerated Vehicle Retirement Program (LIRAP).

-          Larry Ewing -         To discuss and consider approving Countywide burn ban.

-          Hal Jones -          To discuss and consider declaring an emergency budget amendment for Elections Expense for $40,000 to acquire necessary voting equipment in time for upcoming elections.

-         Jack Sebastian -          To discuss and consider advertising for installation of a Concrete Pad for the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Department Auto Impound. 

-          To discuss and consider awarding a contract to Safeguard Imaging Solutions, a State CISV Vendor, for Indexing and Imaging for the County Clerk.

-          To discuss and consider renewing Annual Contract for HVAC Services.

-          To discuss and consider the purchase of property located at 503 Cabell St., Kaufman, adjacent to the Precinct 1 equipment storage facility.

-          To discuss and consider approving request for EMBARQ to install buried communications drop wire along and upon the right-of-way of CR 4070 in Kaufman County Precinct 4.

-          To discuss and consider extending term of contract with Texas Commission on Environmental Quality regarding the funding of the AirCheck Texas Repair and Replacement Assistance Program.

-          To discuss and consider awarding bid for the purchase of a Chip Spreader for Kaufman County Precinct 2.

-          To discuss and consider awarding bid for the purchase of a Pickup Truck for Kaufman County Precinct 1.

-          To consider approval of line-item transfers.

-          Approval of claims for payment.

-          Remarks from visitors.
