Kaufman County and the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) are conducting a public meeting with both in-person and virtual options to discuss and receive input on the US 175 Grade Separations Project. The proposed improvements consist of constructing two to three freeway main lanes in each direction within the grass median of US 175 from north of BUS 175 (State Loop 346) to east of FM 1895, a distance of approximately 2.1 miles, in the City of Kemp, Kaufman County, Texas. Grade separated interchanges would be constructed at BUS 175 and FM 1895. The existing US 175 would become frontage roads. Entrance and exit ramps would be added between the existing frontage roads and proposed freeway main lanes. The existing typical right-of-way (ROW) width is approximately 600 feet. No additional ROW would be required to construct the proposed project.
The purpose of the meeting is to present the proposed project and receive public feedback.
The in-person public meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m at Kemp High School Common Area, 220 State Highway (SH) 274, Kemp, Texas 75143. The virtual public meeting will begin on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at 5:30 p.m. and remain online through Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. on TxDOT’s project website at: www.keepitmovingdallas.com/US175Kemp. The virtual public meeting is not a live event. All meeting materials will be presented at both the virtual and in-person public meeting.
