New Kaufman County Judge Jakie Allen was sworn in along with 14 other Kaufman County elected officials on Sunday, January 1, 2023 in the new Kaufman County Justice Center in front of dozens of witnesses, friends and family members.

After Judge Allen was sworn in by US Congressman Lance Gooden, Judge Allen administered the oath of office to most of the elected officials with the exception of Judge Casey Blair, Criminal District Attorney Erleigh Norville Wiley and County Court at Law No. 2 Judge Bobby Rich, who were sworn in by former 422nd District Judge Mike Chitty. (Judge Chitty served as the 422nd District Court judge from January 29, 2004, until his retirement on December 31, 2020). County Court at Law Judge Tracy Booker Gray was also sworn in by Congressman Gooden.
