Kaufman County Now Under Flood Warning

1:30 p.m. – UPDATE: Kaufman County is now under a Flood Warning. State resources are now in Kaufman County assisting residents in the southern end of the County who are experiencing extreme flooding. There are two boat crews with Texas Task Force 1 and two boat crews with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Game Warden’s Office assisting with water rescues. It generally takes 24 to 48 hours for the water to dissipate from flood levels so even after the rain stops, please continue to use extreme caution.

8 a.m. – ALERT from the Office of Emergency Management: Kaufman County remains under a Flood Watch through today, August 22, 2022. Steve Howie, Emergency Management Coordinator reports that more than five inches of rain has fallen since midnight and one to three inches more is expected today causing flooding as creeks and rivers rise.
