Library Reopens With New Look

After more than 40 days of renovation, the Kaufman County Library has reopened! The Library closed on May 12 to have some notable renovations made including new paint, flooring, and an upgraded technology system in the community room. Library Director Yasma Holland said while there are a few finishing touches to be made, the Library is ready to welcome anyone wanting a relaxing, but exciting place to read and explore the world through books and video.
“We are so excited about the renovations to the Library,” said Director Holland. “I believe the new improvements, especially the video wall, will bring a new excitement for our Kaufman County residents of all ages.”
The Library, built in 1989, was due for some renovations, as very few changes have been made to the current building in over 30 years. The technology improvements include five additional computers and six laptops, and table and chairs for those computer areas giving patrons more computer access. These improvements were made possible from a $17,000 Cares Grant from the Institute of Libraries and Museum Services through the Texas State Library and Archives Commission. The Library’s Wi-Fi was also upgraded through this grant. There are still some features coming, but the Library is ready to welcome you back!
